In preparation for the ongoing project to try to map all routes for every ISDT, I’ve acquired a map for the ISDT 1965 from the official Programme. If anybody has any more information about the exact locations of checks etc I would always be grateful to get them for when I turn my attention to this event.
This is a low resolution copy I have a master image scanned at 300dpi and would like to very much thank the generosity of Graham Forsdyke, one time writer for ‘the Motor Cycle‘, ‘Motor Cycling‘ who covered a number of ISDT events and made this copy of the programme available for our further research needs.
Hi,I live here in the Isle of man and ride these trails every saturday.I cant make out the routes on the map on the site.can you email me a better quality map and i will give you all the details you need.

I have the course maps for the 1965 ISDT which were passed to me by the widow of the Assistant Clerk of the Course, Jack Quayle.
Included in the pack is the ‘Description of the Routes’ and the Route Marking Parties schedules for each of the 3 routes.
The first days route ‘The Northern Course’ was run Anti-clockwise and the check points were at
F – Cornaa Beach MR 471880
E – Sky Hill MR 431944
D – Point of Ayre
C – GlenDuff MR 410944
B – Bungalow MR
A – TT Grandstand
Total Miles for day 101.5
Day 2 the 21st September 1965 was run ‘Clockwise’
Hang on to them Derek Wylde passed onto me the post war Welsh ISDT clerk of course and course marker maps just like the ones you appear to have.
